
STAFF RESPONSIBILITIES

The ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and staff

The ability to involve individuals in directing their own care

Support individuals with all aspects of personal care not limited to toileting and personal grooming

Assist individuals with all activities of daily living

Complete housekeeping tasks and duties
-
Complete laundry for individuals
-
Effectively work with team members to provide adequate supports
-
Preparation of daily meals and awareness of special diets
-
Support individuals with their meals
-
Be aware of health and safety within the location of work
-
Support individuals with mobility
-
Have the knowledge of how to use mobile devices safely
-
Support individuals to attend medical appointments and community events
-
Work with individuals who have a variety of support needs
-
Have the ability and knowledge to perform lifts and transfers safely
-
Be open to work at multiple locations
-
Can follow clear directions
-
Communicate with manager and supervisor as required
QUALIFICATION
-
PSW, CSW, SSW, DSW, RPN Certificate from an Ontario Community College Program or University
-
PSW, CSW, SSW, DSW, from a private college that is approved and registered by the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities.
-
Successful completion of the final examination administered by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) or related education.

Related experience working with people who have disabilities in the social services sector
-
Valid G2 or G license. Access to a vehicle is an asset
-
Valid CPR and First Aid
-
Valid CPI (Non -violent Crisis Prevention Intervention, Safe Management)

Up-to-date immunizations and current medical check
-
Pharmacology or medication training an asset

The successful candidate will be required to produce a Vulnerable Sector Police Clearance and proof of education and training prior to the start of their employment.
